? Story...

ok...as usual today's post is below this...I will first show you the passage for today...
Psalm 19:12-14
Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

The story starts here....

Mimosa Plants and Words

"Hurry up, Meredith!" Emily skipped to her little sister's side. "Clean up your mess so we can have lunch!"
"Oh, be quiet," Meredith grumbled angrily as she carefully put a blue, heartshaped bead onto the necklace string. "You're not my boss! I'm tired of you telling me what to do!" Emily's eyes filled with tears as she left the room.
That afternoon, Meredith went along with her mother to do some shopping while Emily played at a friend's house. When Mom stopped at a greenhouse to buy some roses, Meredith wandered around, looking at various types of plants. A greenhouse attendant noticed Meredith's restlessness. "Did you see our mimosa plants?" the attendant asked. "Come look at them." After getting permission from her mom, Meredith went over to see the spiky green plants. "Blow on one of the plants," invited the attendant with a grin.
Puzzled, Meredith blew. She was startled to see the plant's leaves curl up immediately. "I didn't hurt it, did I?" she asked.
No-it will be fine," the worker told her. "These plants respond to possible injury by culing their leaves. That keeps them from being harmed by certain insects of by rain. It doesn't take much harsh treatment to cause them to curl up."
Meredith was fascinated by the plants. "Those mimosa plants are so cool!" she exclaimed as she and her mother drove home.
"They're interesting," Mom agreed, "and I think they must be a little like Emily."
"Like Emily?" asked Meredith. "How?"
"Well, when you blow on mimosa leaves, they curl up," Mom said, "and when you say harsh words to Emily, she 'curls up,' too. Oh, she doesn't actually curl into a ball, but unkind words hurt her deep inside, and she wilts-she withdraws from the conversation to avoid being hurt more. We've talked about this before."
"I'm sorry, Mom," Meredith said quietly. "I'll try to do better. I promise."
"Good," Mom said. "Make sure your words are helping people grow instead of causing them to wilt."

Profile

Psalm 23
A psalm of David.

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
